Selected Programs
Tested and in Development
Passively Cooled Jet Blast Deflector
Magnetic Braking Systems
Regenerative Rail Energy
Stage: Full scale panel tested at NAS Patuxent River in February 2025. The passive architecture aims to reduce dependence on active water cooling.

Next: Representative system and shipboard validation with a Navy transition partner.
Stage: High-speed brake entry demonstrated in April 2026; integrated centering remains under development.

Next: Lateral contact, joints, and hardware variability inform the next design, scheduled to be implemented and tested in 2027.
Stage: Equipment installed. AMT installed double-layer capacitor energy recovery units on 27 Portland TriMet light rail vehicles under a 2012 federal program, capturing braking energy for reuse during acceleration.

Additional Programs
Demonstrations & Next Phases of Testing
Maglev Test Platforms
SMES Development
Carbon Foam Shielding
Stage: AMT built demonstration tracks in Edgewater, Florida, at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and in Powder Springs, Georgia. Vehicle, guideway, controls, and integration lessons informed our current magnetic systems capabilities.
Stage: Concept and component development for fast, short duration power response.

Next: SBIR Phase I program for Navy SMES system awarded September 2026.
Stage: Materials and shielding research under a USAF Phase I effort.

Next: Measure application specific EMI/EMP performance and qualify the material in a representative enclosure.
